- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, February 20, 2001 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Barbara J. Shaw Ex-Ames Assistant Manager - Barbara J. Shaw, 50, Naples, Florida, formerly of Pulaski, died Friday at her home of cancer. Mrs. Shaw, who had lived in Pulaski most of her life, was an assistant manager at Ames for several years. She and her husband moved to Naples in 1993, and she had been a certified nursing assistant at Naples Community Hospital since 1997. Born January 12, 1951, in Pulaski, daughter of James and Helen Moore Harrington, she was a graduate of Pulaski Academy and Central School. After moving to Florida, she graduated from James L. Walker Vocational Technical Center, Naples, with a nursing assistant certification. She married Thomas M. Shaw HI on July 4, 1973. Mrs. Shaw was a former member of the Northern Oswego County Ambulance Corps and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7289 Auxiliary. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Edwin M., Box Springs, Georgia, Dennis M.. Mexico, and Timothy M., Naples; five brothers, Michael Porter and Tracy Harrington, both of Mapleview, Dennis Dunbar, Cicero, James Harrington, Parish, and Timothy Harrington, Syracuse, two sisters, Kim Sue Harrington, Parish, and Kimberly Smith, Mapleview, and four grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 am. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorothy Emblidge officiating. Spring burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
