    • Newspaper Obituary - February 24, 1993 Syracuse Herald Journal - Syracuse, New York - Doris Ackley Mattison of Potter Road died Monday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital. A native of Altmar, Mrs. Mattison was a life resident of the Orwell area. She retired as teacher and head of the social studies department after 15 years with Mexico Academy and Central School. Mrs. Mattison was a graduate of Pulaski Academy High School and a 1943 graduate of Keuka College. She received her master's degree in 1960 from Syracuse University. Mrs. Mattison was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Pulaski, the Education Honor Society at SU and the Tuesday Study Club. She was president of the Pulaski Historical Society and served as curator of the Pulaski Museum. Surviving are her husband, Albert S.; a daughter, Nancy Madison of Basel, Switzerland; a son, Richard G. of Altmar; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. James Episcopal Church. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the family home. Contributions may be made to the Doris Ackley Mattison Scholarship Fund at Keuka College, Keuka Park, N.Y. 14478. Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, has charge of arrangements.
