      Walter “Bud” Miller, 81, of 585 Sherman Road, died Wednesday at Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego, where he had resided for about a month.

      Mr. Miller had resided in Mexico since 1965 and formerly lived in the Pulaski area. He owned and operated Walt’s Garage for several years. He also was a dairy farmer and operated Miller Potato Farm, Williamstown, for many years. He had been employed at his son’s business, Steve’s Body Shop, for the last 14 years.

      He was a member and former trustee of Pulaski Wesleyan Church and for many years was a committeeman for the Oswego County Conservative Party.

      Born May 5, 1918, in Syracuse, the son of Walter and Elizabeth Austin Miller, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1936 and Farmingdale Agricultural and Technical Institute in 1938.

      He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945, in the European theater of war. He flew 35 bombing missions and was discharged as a captain.

      He married Josephine Weber on June 7, 1963, at the Congregational Church of Pulaski, with the Rev. Donald Swartout officiating.

      Surviving besides his wife and his son Steve, of Mexico, are two sons, Wayne, Wikieup, Ariz., and Earl, Pea Ridge, Ark.; two daughters, Ann Whitlock, Mascotte, Fla., and Lori Leese, Carnation, Wash.; a stepson, Edward Moyer, Fulton; a sister, Elizabeth Clayton, Newton, Iowa; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

      The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Steven Bean officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

      Calling hours are from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
