    • Newspaper Article - Thursday, November 23, 1882 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Another wedding will take place in this village next Wednesday. We refer to the approaching nuptials of Mr. Samuel Mattison, of Sand Bank, to Miss Allie Richardson, of Pulaski. The ceremony will be performed by Rev. Robert Paul at St. James Church.

      Newspaper Article - Thursday, December 7, 1882 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - The Merry Wedding Bells - Marriage of Mr. S. E. Mattison to Miss Alice M. Richardson - St. James church was crowded Wednesday afternoon by the many friends of Miss Alice M. Richardson to witness her marriage to Mr. Samuel E. Mattison, of Sand Bank. At promptly five o'clock the bridal party arrived and took their places before the altar, Miss Sophia Mattison, sister of the groom, playing the wedding march. Miss Libbie Clark acted as bridesmaid, Mr. John Mattison as groomsman. The ushers were Messrs. James H. Betts, Fred Sharp, Eddie Clark and Frank Hohman. The bride was attired in a rich costume of pure white and presented a lovely appearance. Rev. Robert Paul, rector of St. James, performed the beautiful and impressive ceremony of the Episcopal Church, the bride being given away by her father, Mr. George Richardson. The bride and groom left on the evening train for Niagara Falls, and will spend some time visiting friends in the western part of the state.       Newspaper Obituary - September 9, 1931 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Geo. Mattison Dies At Altmar Home - Died at Altmar, N.Y., Saturday, September 5th, George Chapman Mattison, aged 45 years. George C. Mattison died suddenly Saturday morning at his home in the Seamans District following a cerebral hemorrhage. He attended an entertainment at the village hall, Friday evening and appeared to be in good health, but was stricken about 4 o'clock Saturday morning and passed away at 8 o'clock without regaining consciousness. Mr. Mattison was born March 21, 1886 and was the son of Samuel and Alice Richardson Mattison, and his life had been spent in this vicinity. He was a member of St. Johns Episcopal church of this village, and of Altmar Grange and Citizens Club. Mr. Mattison served as Justice of the Peace for several years and was a member of the Board of Education in 1917. He was the candidate of the Republican party for Supervisor in the coming election. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Obrist Mattison and five children, Samuel, Frances, Alice, Albert and Richard, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Mattison. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his late home with the Rev. Frederick Meyer officiating. The bearers were members of the Town Board, Frank Fenton, C. E. Reese, Frank Corwin, Geo. W. Hamblin, Edward Hoffman and Russell Laney. Interment was made in the family plot in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Mattison was stricken early in the morning and passed away at 8 o'clock without regaining consciousness. Friday evening he attended an entertainement in the village hall and seemed to be in good health. Mr. Mattison was born March 21, 1886, and was the son of Samuel and Alice Richardson Mattison. His whole life had been spent in this vicinity. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Altmar Grange, and Citizens Club. He was a member of the Town Board of Education in 1917 and was justice of the peace for several years. He was a candidate of the Republican party for supervisor in the coming election. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Obrist Mattison and five children, Samuel, Frances, Alice, Albert and Richard, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Mattison, all of Altmar. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. F. F. Meyer were held at his home Tuesday afternoon. Bearers were members of the Town Board, Frank Fenton, C. E. Reese, Frank Corwin, Geo. W. Hamblin, Edward Hoffman and R. E. Laney. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
