The funeral for Willard M. Mahaffy, 71, of 3347 Maple Ave., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marilyn Stevens and the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Mr. Mahaffy died Sunday at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Foster-Hax Funeral Home.
He worked as an instrumental technician for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. at the steam plant in Oswego, retiring in 1991. He had also worked at Bristol Labs in Syracuse for several years.
He was a member of Park United Methodist Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local out of Oswego.
Born Aug. 18, 1933, in Pulaski, son of Yates and Della Babcock Mahaffy, he graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1951, served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and graduated from Morrisville Agricultural and Technical Institute.
A marriage to Sandra Richardson ended in divorce.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Mary E. and Mark Shelmidine, Lorraine; a son and his wife, Scott M. and Sandra, Sevierville, Tenn.; a brother, Paul, Pulaski; a sister, Barbara Wilder, San Luis Obispo, Calif., a grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Yates Jr. and William, died before him.
