Paul M. Mahaffy, age 79, life resident of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Rosewood Heights Nursing Home in Syracuse. Paul was born March 6, 1932, in Pulaski, the son of Yates and Della Babcock Mahaffy. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1950. Paul served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955, and he served in the Air National Guard until 1961. Paul married Shirley Jacobs on November 23, 1952. He was employed as Richland Town Clerk for 11 years, retiring in 1996. He was previously employed by Franklin Chevrolet for 29 years. He also had worked for Lincoln Bank. Paul was a member and Sunday School teacher at the Pulaski Park United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Robert Edwards American Legion Post #358, Pulaski. Paul also served a as board member for the Springbrook Apartments and the Pulaski Cemetery Commission.
Surviving, his wife, Shirley, three sons, Paul M. (Susan) Mahaffy, Jr., Charles Mahaffy, and David Mahaffy, all of Pulaski, and six grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Park United Methodist Church, 2 Hubble Street, Pulaski, with Reverend Brian Homan officiating, burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski. Donations may be made to the Park United Methodist Church, Ida Scriba Memorial Scholarship Fund
