Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 29, 1972 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Fay Hilton, 78, Dies - Fay S. Hilton, 78, of Sandy Pond, died November 24, 1972 in the Oswego Hospital Extended Care Facility after a long illness. Born March 10, 1894, at Orwell, son of John and Rose Wells Hilton, he attended the Vorea district school. In 1913 he was married to Pearl M. Bennett, the couple moving to Syracuse in 1920 where Mr. Hilton was a building contractor. He was employed in 1950 at the Hilton Hotel, Syracuse, retiring to Sandy Pond in 1961. Surviving besides his widow, Mrs. Pearl Bennett, are a son, Gareth B., Pulaski, three daughters, Mrs. Walter (June) Herzog, Syracuse, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Lowe, Phoenix, and Mrs. Primo (Faye) Bulluz, Jamestown; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two brothers, Clarence W. and Ora J., both of Syracuse; two sisters, Mrs. Dressa Coling, Syracuse, and Mrs. Alton Ames, Marathon. Services were held Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Rev. James Bruinsma, pastor of the Vorea Community Church officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.
