Newspaper Article - Wednesday, September 13, 1899 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Hymeneal - Hadley - Champney - A pretty home wedding occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Champney, Wednesday afternoon, September 6, when their daughter, Marion L. was united in marriage to Jesse F. Hadley, of Sandy Creek. Guests to the number of over fifty were assembled in the pleasant parlors, which were beautifully decorated with evergreens and potted plants. At five o'clock the bridal party were ushered in to the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march, and taking their place beneath a cluster of white lilies set in an arch of evergreens and wild clematis with a bank of ferns for background. The impressive ceremony was performed by Rev. J. Foster Wilcox, pastor of the Baptist church. Little Miss Ruth Wilcox acted as flower girl. Miss Jennie Clark, of Mexico, presided at the piano. The bride was attired in white silk and carried a bouquet of sweet peas. After congratulations a bountifill repast was served. The bride is one of Pulaski's accomplished young ladies having been a very successful teacher. The groom is a young man of sterling qualities in every way worthy of the bride he has won. They were the recipients of many rare and beautiful presents. Mr. and Mrs. Hadley left on the evening train for the south for a short bridal tour. They will make their future home in Sandy Creek.
