      Harold “Bud” Haas of Stephens City, VA passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

      Bud was born December 6, 1937 in Chambersburg, PA; the son of Harold E. Haas, Sr. and Frederica Frank Haas. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps following high school graduation. He was a member of American Legion Post in Altmar, N.Y.

      Bud married Constance Stowell on June 10, 1961 in Pulaski, N.Y. They owned and operated Pulaski Sewing Center from 1972 until 2000 when they retired and moved to Virginia. A widely known personality in the community, Bud was extremely active in the Chamber of Commerce and other area organizations.

      He is survived by his wife Connie and two children, Jennifer Marie Haas Marcin and husband, John of Lexington, MA; and by a son Ronald Haas and his wife Teresa of Middletown, VA. Bud is also survived by a sister Katie Wilson of Seminole, FL. He is predeceased by a sister Frederica “Rickey” Haas.

      Bud dearly loved his seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      The many family vacations spent together were the joy of his life.

      A celebration of life memorial service was held April 8 at Meade Memorial Episcopal Church in White Post, VA.

      Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, 909 N. Washington St., Suite 400, Alexandria, VA 22314.
