Orlando "Dick" Mowers, 90, of Orwell, died Monday at an Avon Park, Fla., nursing home.
The funeral will be at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, at a date to be announced. Spring burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Viola M.; two sons, Ronald, Pulaski, and Joseph, California; two daughters, Dorothy Jones, Mexico, and Leda Beh, Ontario, N.Y.; a stepson, John Howard, Tamarack, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Bartelstone, Thompson Ridge; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oakley, Altmar, and Harold, Newark Valley, and a sister, Christina Landers, Sandy Pond.
Born in Altmar on Sept. 10, 1903, a son of George and Myrtle Waite Mowers, he attended Altmar schools and married Gladys Smith in 1925. She died Nov. 18, 1977. He married Viola Verton on Sept. 30, 1979.
Mr. Mowers lived in Orwell, Altmar, Williamstown and Pulaski for many years. He retired in 1969 from the New York Central Railroad.
He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Employees and a former member of the Pulaski Odd Fellows.
