The funeral for Virginia C. LaRue, 85, formerly of Salina Street, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with Francis "Fran" Taplin, pastor of North Country Christian Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
Mrs. LaRue died Thursday at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. LaRue was employed as a waitress in area restaurants.
She was a member of American Association of Horses Asses Corral 97, Sandy Creek, and a former member of Sandy Creek Fire Department Auxiliary.
Born May 18, 1919, in Sandy Creek, daughter of Kenneth and Gertrude Dunbar Wilcox, she attended school in Sandy Creek and was a life resident of the Sandy Creek-Lacona area.
She married Willard W. "Bill" LaRue on Sept. 17, 1949, in Milford, Pa. Mr. LaRue died March 30, 1998. She had been married previously.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Patsy-Deane Landers, Watertown, and Trudy and Louis Moyer, Lacona; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Sharon Martin, Pulaski, Wes and Brenda LaRue, Orwell, and Kenney LaRue, Sandy Creek; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Benajean McDowell, and a brother, Charles Wilcox, died before her.
