      Hazel D. Waggoner, 71, of 161 Waggoner Road, died Thursday in the emergency room at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
      The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Vorea Community Church, town of Orwell, with the Rev. Thomas G. Howell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
      Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Donations may be made to the Vorea Community Church or to the Gideon Bible Society in care of the church.
      Surviving are her husband, Arthur F.; three daughters, Ruth Ann Waggoner and Mrs. Robert (Deborah) Martin Jr., both of Orwell, and Mrs. Charles (Rebecca) Raynore, Syracuse; two sisters, Dorothy Ann Harvey, Cattaraugus, and Rosemary Steese, Rensselaer; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
      Three sisters, Helen Gibbs, Ruth Bendfelt and Alice Smith, died before her.
      Born Feb. 9, 1924, in Cattaraugus, daughter of Ralph and Crystal Studley Dermont, she graduated from Cattaraugus High School in 1941 and from Houghton College in 1946 with a degree in theology.
      Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Curtis Wright Aircraft, Buffalo, and the Wesleyan Publishing House, Syracuse.
      She married Arthur F. Waggoner April 4, 1953, in Syracuse. The couple resided in the town of Orwell all their married life.
      Mrs. Waggoner retired from Orwell Elementary School as a teacher's aide in June 1986.
      She was a member of Vorea Community Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.

      Hazel D. Waggoner, 71, of 161 Waggoner Road died Thursday at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

      Mrs. Waggoner was a native of Cattaraugus and had lived in the Orwell area since 1953. She graduated from Cattaraugus High School in 1941 and received a degree in theology in 1946 from Houghton College. She retired as a teacher's aide from Orwell Elementary School in 1986. She also worked at Curtis-Wright Aircraft, Buffalo, and Wesleyan Publishing House, Syracuse.

      Mrs. Waggoner was a member of Vorea Community Church. She taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.

      Surviving are her husband, Arthur F.; three daughters, Ruth Ann Waggoner and Deborah Martin, both of Orwell, and Rebecca Raynore of Syracuse; two sisters, Dorothy Ann Harvey of Cattaraugus and Rosemary Steese of Rensselaer; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

      Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Vorea Community Church, the Rev. Thomas G. Howell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cememtery.
