      Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, October 24, 1972 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Brownville - Mrs. Celia E. Pond, 75, of 109 Potter Ave., widow of Ernest M. Pond, died Monday morning in Mercy Hospital, Watertown, where she had been a patient three weeks following several years of poor health. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Brownville United Methodist Church, Rev. Morton Magee pastor, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial tributes may be as contributions to the Memorial Fund of the Brownville Methodist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. John (Grace) Lenz, Waterford, Connecticut; Mrs. Walter (Ruth) Oliver, Auburn; Mrs. Charles (Thelma) Seamans, Chittenango; and Mrs. Wilbert (Ernestine) McKenzie, Hilton; Two sons, Eugene, Brownville and Glen, Saranac Lake. A brother, Vernon Greenley, Adams and 23 grandchildren. Born January 16, 1897, at Worth, daughter of Eugene and Harriet Doneburg Greenley, she attended Adams School and on May 15, 1918, was married to Ernest M. Pond at Ogdensburg. The couple lived in Kendall for two years, then Parish until 1939 when they came to this village where Mr. Pond was station agent for the New York Central Railroad Company until his death July 22, 1954. Mrs. Pond was a member of the United Methodist Church and the 165th Puritan Chapter, O. E. S., Parish.
