    • Newspaper Obituary - August 22, 1903 Wilkes-Barre Times - Death Of Mrs. Kennedy - Mrs. James J. Kennedy, a well known woman of Plymouth, died at 11:30 this morning at her home on Willow street after several weeks illness of blood poisoning. Deceased resided at Plymouth for a number of years and was highly esteemed by her neighbors. She was a member of Branch 445, L.O.B.A. and is survived by her husband and eight children: Mrs. William J. Woodrow, of Maryland; Thomas, Mary, Eugene, William, Bridget, John and Elizabeth at home, and brothers, John and William Foley, of Plymouth. The funeral will probably be held on Monday morning.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 23, 1903 Wilkes-Barre Sunday Leader - Death Of Mrs. James J. Kennedy. - Mrs. James J. Kennedy died yesterday at her home on Walnut street at 11:30 of peritinitis, aged about 43 years. She had been ill since July 29 and while she made a little progress towards recovery, she was never able to leave her room, and after a few days of improvement was again forced to take to her bed where she gradually grew worse until Saturday, when the end came at the above named hour. She was a well known and respected woman, residing here from her youth and enjoyed the friendship of a large circle of friends who will regret to hear of her demise. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children; Mrs. John Woodroe, of Maryland; Thomas, Eugene, Mary, William, Bridget, John and Elizabeth Kennedy and two brothers, William Foley, of Ohio and John Foley of Buttonwood street, this place. The funeral will take place Tuesday morning with a high mass of requiem at St. Vincent's church at 10 o'clock. Interment will be made in St. Vincent's cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 25, 1903 Wilkes-Barre Times - Funeral For Mrs Kennedy - The funeral of the late Mrs. James J. Kennedy took place this morning from her late home on Willow street with a high mass of requiem at St. Vincent's church. The mass was celebrated by Rev. D. W. McCarthy in the presence of a concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives. The cortege moved at 9 o'clock and the funeral procession was a large one. A delegation of the L.C.B.A. of which the deceased was a member, attended the obsequies. The pall bearers were Charles O'Connell, Joseph Brennan, John Maher, Patrick Eagan, Patrick Hammond and John Gilgallon. The remains were laid to rest in the family plot in St. Vincent's cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - August 26, 1903 Wilkes-Barre Record - The last sad rites over the remains of Mrs. James J. Kennedy were performed at St. Vincent's Church yesterday morning by Rev. D. W. McCarthy, who read a requiem high mass in the presence of a large number of friends. There was a large array of floral offerings sent by sorrowing friends. The pall bearers were: John Gilgallon, Patrick Hammon, Patrick Egan, John Maher, Joseph Brennan and Charles O'Connell. Interment was in St. Vincent's cemetery.
