- Newspaper Obituary - July 10, 1995 Syracuse Herald Journal - Syracuse, New York - Wilfred "Curly" Garrett, 75, of Vorhees Road died Friday at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, after a brief illness. Mr. Garrett lived in North Syracuse before moving to Parish in 1973. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Garrett was a charter member of the North Syracuse VFW and was a former member of Centerville Lodge 648 in North Syracuse. He was a former employee of Syracuse China and he later retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co., where he worked as a salesman. Surviving are: his wife, the former Dorothy Butterworth; two sons, Gary of Colorado Springs and Lee of Parish; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Harter Funeral Home, Parish, the Rev. Patrick Holder officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 7430 Main St. Contributions may be made to the West Amboy United Methodist Church.
