    • Earl S. Clemens, retired PACS treasurer, dies

      Earl S. Clemens, 82, of 7402 Lincoln Ave., retired manager of Lincoln First Bank in Pulaski, was pronounced dead on arrival last Tuesday, December 20, at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown.

      The funeral was held Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with Rev. Dolen Morris, pastor of the Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell.

      Memorial donations may be made to the Northern Oswego County Ambulance.

      He is survived by two sons, Earl B., Lansdale, Pa., and Robert B., Pulaski; a daughter, Mrs. William (Patricia) Rotunno, Warren, Pa.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      He was born in Redfield March 12, 1895, son of George and Ada Thomas Clemens.

      He was graduated from Pulaski High School and from Cornell University's agricultural banking program.

      Mr. Clemens served in the Navy during World War I. Worked at the People's National Bank of Pulaski until it closed, and was a federal bank examiner from 1930 to 1934, became bank manager in 1949 and retired in 1960.

      He married Ella V. Ballard Sept. 19, 1920. She died Dec. 30, 1969.

      He was a charter member of the Robert Edwards American Legion Post 358, was past district deputy and grand master of the I.O.O.F., former treasurer of the Pulaski Rod and Gun Club, member of the Pulaski Service Club, and life member of the Mad River Club.

      Mr. Clemens retired this summer as treasurer of
      Pulaski Academy and Central School, a position he had held for 31 years
