      Newspaper Obituary - Sunday, April 8, 2010 Syracuse Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - George O. Widrig, 78, life resident of Richland, died Thursday at his home. He was born May 24, 1931, in Richland, the son of James and Avis Donovan Widrig. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1948. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Oswego State Teachers College, and he attended Syracuse University. George was employed by the town of Richland as the town historian. He was a published author on local history. He was a charter member of Richland Historical Society, and he was also a member of the Rosa Garden Club and co-founder of Half-shire Historical Society. George was a member and officer of Richland Cemetery Association. Surviving: one brother, David Widrig of Daytona, Florid; one sister, Phyllis Robarge of Richland; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Jean Hager, in 1989. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, in Richland Cemetery, Richland. Donations may be made to the town of Richland Historical Society. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
