- Edward Lewis Carr - December 16, 1884 - October 29, 1970. Son of Lewis and Eliza Webb Can. Husband of Chloe M. Pierce Carr (married April 17, 1906) & Marion Harris Wheeler Carr (married March 10, 1967.) [Note: Marion Wheeler Can died December 30, 1988 in Oswego, New York and is buried in Fairview Cemetery at Williamstown, New York.]
Newspaper Obituary - Friday, October 30, 1970 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Edward L. Can, 85, Ridge Road, formerly of the Town of Richland, died Thursday at the Ryan Nursing Home in Watertown. Mr. Carr was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church in Altmar and Ricard Grange 993. Until his retirement in 1942, he was employed by the Curtis Mill Company, and later the former New York Central Railroad and the American Express Company. At his retirement he was an express messenger for the New York Central Railroad. After retirement Mr. Can- was a rural mail carrier for Richland and a farmer. He married to the late Mrs. Chloe Pierce Carr who died August 23, 1964. In March 1967 he married Marion Wheeler. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marion Wheeler Carr; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Riley of Richland and a son, Louis M. Carr of Clayton; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a step-son, Vernon Wheeler of Pulaski and two brothers, Earl and Hugh Carr of Rochester. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Zelinka and the Rev. Adelbert Edwards, officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Saturday at the funeral home, 7385 Park Street.
