      Rose E. Wheeler, 99, Pulaski Street, died Sunday at Loretto, Syracuse.

      Mrs. Wheeler was a cafeteria worker at Altmar Elementary School for several years.

      Born May 31, 1898, in Clinton, daughter of Thomas and Mary Cotter Kiddney, she attended Camden High School.

      She married William W. Wheeler on Feb. 7, 1917. Mr. Wheeler died Nov. 3, 1958.

      Mrs. Wheeler was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a life member and past president of the Russell Tryon American Legion Post 1435 Auxiliary.

      Surviving are a son, Leon R., Williamstown; three daughters, Rosemary S. Johnson, Gertrude B. Ford and Norma M. Walker, all of Altmar; 22 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

      A son, William T., died Nov. 24, 1993, and a grandson also died before her.

      The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. John Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

      Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.

      Donations may be made to the Russell Tryon American Legion Auxiliary.
