      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 5, 1905 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - George W. Woods - The death of George W. Woods, which occurred Wednesday evening, March 22, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harvey, with whom he had made his home for some time, removed one of the oldest and most prominent citizens of our town. Mr. Woods was born in this village 82 years ago. He was an active businessman having been at one time connected with the R. L. Ingersoll sash and blind manufactory. For a number of years he was a resident of Oswego where he conducted an undertaking business and during the administration of President Cleveland, was Deputy United States Marshall. He also at one time conducted Stanwix Hall in Rome. Mr. Woods always took connective part in politics, being a staunch Democrat. He is survived by two sons, Samuel K. Woods, of Fort Plain, and Henry N. Woods, of New York. The funeral was held at the Harvey home at 1:30 Saturday afternoon, Rev. Jesse B. Felt officiating. During the services Mrs. F. A. Clark and Miss Maude Guile rendered "Abide With Me,' and "The Lord is my Shepard," Miss Emma Fuller presiding as accompanist. Many beautiful floral tributes were placed about the casket. The remains were taken to Oswego and buried in Riverside cemetery beside his wife who died about twelve years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel K. Woods, of Fort Plain, and Harry N. Woods, of New York, were in attendance at the funeral.
