      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 5, 1948 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Albert D. Horton, 91, Retired Farmer, Succumbs ¬Albert D. Horton, 91, retired farmer, died in Rochester, Wednesday night, January 28, at 9:00 p.m. after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Horton, who has been living with his daughter, Mrs. Gerald De Lancett, 139 Haley Street, Watertown, for the past few years, had gone to Rochester to spend the Christmas holidays with his two daughters there, Mrs. Helen Edwards and Mrs. George Baker. While in Rochester, he fell and broke his hip and was unable to return to Watertown. Funeral services were held at the Foster funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Robert W. Anthony, pastor of the first Methodist Church of Watertown, officiating. The body was placed in the vault to await burial in the Richland Cemetery in the spring. Mr. Horton was born near Smithville, February 7, 1856 and would've been 92 this Saturday. He was the son of the late John Henry and Nancy Harris Horton. He was married to Ms. Helen Milton on Thanksgiving day in 1882 in the Pulaski Methodist Church. They resided on a farm near here until they retired from farming, and moved into town. Mr. Horton was employed at the old Tollner Box factory for several years. Following Mrs. Horton's death, he had made his home with his children. Surviving are her five daughters, Mrs. De Lancett, Mrs. George A. Brown, 410 Dimmick Street, Watertown; Mrs. Wesley Bowerman, Mann, Florida, and Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Barker of Rochester. There are also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sons, Walter Horton of Fulton and Donald Horton of Watertown, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Pulaski Methodist Church.
