Newspaper Obituary - Friday, December 29, 1950 Herald-Journal - Syracuse, New York - Charles Gibbs Rites Tomorrow - Sandy Creek - Charles M. Gibbs, 63, died Wednesday at the Austin Rest Home in Lacona where he had been a patient for some time. Ile had been in ill health for the last eight months. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan, the son of George and Sarah Nichols Gibbs. His early life was spent in Fredericks Corners, where he attended schools. He married Ada Presley of Sandy Creek, who died in 1908. In 1915 he married Margaret Woodruff, who survives him. He was employed as a millwright and was a member of the Sandy Creek Grange. Surviving besides his wife, are three brothers, Arthur of Sydney, George of Mannsville and Frank Gibbs of Maple View; four daughters, Mrs. Lena Briggs of Lacona, Doris Gibbs of Pulaski, Mrs. Hazel Bowelczwk of Liverpool and Mrs. Marjorie Bennett of Pulaski; two sons, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three of his children are deceased. Funeral services will be from the Weston and Woodard funeral home tomorrow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bremer, pastor of the Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
