      Esther P. "Meme" White, 72, of 114 Bayview Place, died Thursday afternoon at her home, where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

      Mrs. White owned and operated Whitecrest Farms with her husband on Bishop Street Road, town of Henderson, from 1954 until selling the farm in 1993.

      Born June 7, 1935, in Fernwood, daughter of Walter and Eva Youngs Murray, she was educated at Adams High School.

      She married Leroy A. White on Sept. 26, 1952. The couple resided at 43 E. Church St., Adams, from 1984 until moving to Sackets Harbor in November 2005.

      Mrs. White was a member of the Adams Red Hat Society. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.

      Surviving besides her husband are a son and his wife, Terry W. and Maria, Adams; three daughters and their husbands, Debra B. and Kirk Williams, Belleville, Teresa N. and William Stoodley Jr., Sackets Harbor, and Cindy S. and James Furman, Silver Springs; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Max and Bertha Murray, Sun City, Ariz., Theodore and Sue Murray, Woodville, and Douglas Murray, Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Nancy Berry, Adams; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

      Three brothers, Carlton, William and Donald Murray, and four sisters, Beatrice Southworth, Virginia Smith, Yvonne Case and Almeda Farman, died before her.

      The funeral and graveside service will be at the family's convenience. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Adams.

      Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County or Sackets Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Squad, 112 N. Broad St., Sackets Harbor, N.Y. 13685.
