- Newspaper Obituary - June 28, 1960 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - William Kennedy - The funeral of William Kennedy of 226 Wright Avenue, Kingston, was held this morning from Maher Funeral Home, 260 North Maple Avenue, Kingston. Rev. Thomas M. Jordan was celebrant of the Requiem Mass in St. Ignatius Church, Kingston. Mrs. Bernard Purcell was organist, and Adrian DeMarco, soloist. Interment was in the parish cemetery, Pringle, where Rev. Eugene J. Devitt officiated at the committal services. Pallbearers were Harry, Jarrett, William Devaney, Thomas Tobin, John Brady, James Cooney and Norrison Lawson.
Newspaper Obituary - June 25, 1960 Wilkes-Barre Times Leader - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania - William Kennedy - A heart attack proved fatal to William Kennedy, of 266 Wright Avenue, Kingston, yesterday in Mercy Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital several hours earlier. Born in Larksville, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mary Ellen Murphy Kennedy. He lived in Larksville until moving to Kingston in 1940. Mr. Kennedy had been employed at Loree Colliery, Hudson Coal Company, many years until 1955. He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston; its societies and Loree Local of UMW. His sister Alice, a former employee of State Department of Health, died in 1958. Surviving are his widow, the former Frances Brady, of Ashley, are children, William Jr., Mary Ellen and Timothy, at home; sisters, Winifred and Mrs. Joseph Kubish, Kingston; brothers Eugene, Wilkes-Barre, Joseph, Millburn, N.J.; Paul, Alexandria, Va., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held from John J. Maher Funeral Home, 360 North Maples Avenue, Kingston, Tuesday at 9 with a Solemn Requiem Mass at 9:30 in St. Ignatius Church. Interment in parish cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call 7 to 10 and thereafter 3 to 5 and 7 to 10.
