      Charles H. Krebs, 84, R.D. 1, Krebs Road, retired farmer, died Sunday morning at the Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego, after a long illness.

      The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with Rev. Virgil H. Hager, pastor of Sandy Creek Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood.

      Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance, P.O. Box 123, Pulaski, 13142.

      Surviving are his wife, Emma; a son, Richard D., Pulaski; two daughters, Doris Tirabassi, Las Vegas, Nev., and Barbara Licourt, Pulaski; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Pauline Griffin, New Haven.

      Born in Daysville on Nov. 27, 1903, a son of Herman and Leafy Fleming Krebs, he attended Tyler district schools.

      He married Emma Hertzler Nov. 21, 1925, at Lancaster, Pa.

      The couple owned and operated a dairy and beef cattle farm for more than 50 years on Krebs Road, retiring in 1975. They also were involved in raising turkeys about 20 years.

      Mr. Krebs served on the Richland Town Council for many years.

      He was a 45-year member of the Mexico International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, and a member of the Fernwood Grange, Fernwood United Methodist Church and New York State Cattlemen's Association.
