- Newspaper Obituary - March 27, 2012 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Norma J. Coffin - March 26, 2012 - Norma J. Coffin, age 82, life resident of Richland and Orwell, passed away Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. Norma was born September 5, 1929 in Orwell. She attended Pulaski Schools. Norma married Robert L. Coffin on August 2, 1952, he died June 30, 1988. Norma and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm for 20 years. They also owned Robert L. Coffin Trucking for 30 years. Norma was a member of the Town of Richland Half Shire Historical Society. Surviving: three sons, Larry (Pat) Whaley of Pulaski, Robert E. (Sue) Coffin of Lacona and Mark (Carol) Coffin of Primrose, KY; three daughters, Linda Dailey of Waterloo, Sandy (Henry) Pettit of Clay City, KY and Laurie (Richard) Fox of Pulaski; one sister, Jolene LaCelle of Pulaski; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Norma was predeceased by her first husband, Lyle Whaley who died September of 1951, one son, Lyle Whaley Jr. who died October 22, 1988, and one grandson, Michael Coffin who died July 19, 2005. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Half Shire Historical Society, PO Box 73, Richland, NY 13144.
