      Died in Altmar November 21, 1917, Edward LaVeck aged 73 years.
      Edward LaVeck was born in Ottawa, Canada Mar 3, 1844 and passed away at his home ill Altmar, November 21, 1917. Mr. LaVeck came to Fulton, Oswego Co.
      When about 21 years of age and there married Miss Alvina Boyce who survives him. Six children were born of this marriage, three of whom survive, namely Frank LaVeck of Pulaski, William and John of Altmar. The three who are gone are Fred and Charlie who died in infancy, and the only daughter, Mrs. Eva Jacobson who passed away at Kasoag, Nov. 12, 1903. Mr. LaVeck is also survived by seven grandchildren, Miss Mildred Jacobson and Howard, Marion and Allan LaVeck of Altmar and Miss Ethel, Virgil and, Leland LaVeck of Pulaski, and one great grandchild, Vernon LaVeck of Altmar, also one Brother, Frank LaVeck of Fulton and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Herrick of California besides a number of other relatives, one nephew being with the motorcycle squad in Texas.
      Mr. I.aVeck had lived in Oswego County most of his life, having worked for the Post and Henderson Company on the river at Stillwater for 17 years. For the last fourteen year's he had conducted a meat market in this village. Mr. LaVeck had been afflicted with asthma for a great many years and had suffered terribly with this disease.
      He will be greatly missed by his wife, who has cared for him devotedly during his years of ill health and his granddaughter,
      Mildred Jacobson, who having lost both parents has always made her home with her grandparents. He will also be missed by his children, other relatives and friends.
      Funeral services for Mr. LaVeck were held at the Methodist church, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the pastor, Rev. A. A. Lawrence officiating.' Three selections, "Thy Will Be Done," "When at Last We- Say Good Bye", and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" were sung by Mrs. D. A. Fradenburgh and E. A. Field. Those acting as bearers were C. E. Reese, V. D. Pierce, Peter Truax, Lawrence Meegan, J . J. Sterling and Emory Dawley. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
      Friends from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. LaVeck's brother, Frank LaVeck; a brother-in-law, Peter Quirk and the following nephews and nieces, Frank Quirk , Mr. and Mrs. Louis LaVeck, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank LaVeck Jr., Mr. and Mrs. George LaVeck, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bourlier, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holden and William Henry LaVeck all of Fulton. Miss Ethel Chase, of Gouverneur, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank LaVeck, Miss Ethel, Leland and Virgil LaVeck of Pulaski.
