    • Newspaper Obituary - December 24, 2008 Syracuse Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Samuel O. Mattison, 94, a life resident of Altmar, died Sunday at St. Luke's in Oswego. Born January 15, 1914, in Altmar, son of George and Anna Obrist Mattison, he attended Altmar schools and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1932. He was married to Irma Pratt on November 30, 1935; she died July 25, 2002. He owned a dairy farm for 65 years, retiring in 1990. He was also a cattle dealer for many years. He also served as Albion town justice for 24 years. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Pulaski. He was a member of the Pulaski Grange #730 and also the State and National Grange. He was a former member of the IOOF, Orwell Lodge. He was also a member of Oswego County Cooperative Extension. Surviving: two sons, George P. (Joan) of Atlanta, GA, and Samuel Arthur (Sue) of Altmar; two daughters, Mary Anna Washburn of Lacona and Jean Marie Densmore of Orwell; one sister, Francis Hoenow of Pulaski; 15 grandchildren; 32 great- grandchildren; and five great- great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with spring burial in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral. Donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, Lake Street, Pulaski, NY 13142.
