      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, February 27, 1918 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Charles Fleming died at his home in North Mexico, February 12th, after several months of intense suffering. He was born December 17th, 1863, son of William and Electa Fleming who died about 14 years ago and brother of Cheney Fleming who died about 5 years ago. He was a graduate of Pulaski High School and taught several years in surrounding schools. April 1st, 1888 he was married to Helen L. Spencer of Williamstown. To them were born two daughters both of whom died in infancy. About three years ago his health began to fail and for several months he has been confined to the house suffering intensely. For a few weeks just preceding Christmas, he rallied sufficiently to celebrate his birthday in a quiet manner, and to entertain a few of the relatives Christmas day, during which time they cherished fond hopes of his recovery to health. But alas, the hopes were not to be realized for he gradually failed until the end. He is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. Nellie Fleming, Pulaski; three nephews, Ray L. Fleming, of Clay; Bryan W. Fleming, of Ottawa, Canada and Fordyce W. Fleming, of Mapleview. A number of other relatives, friends and neighbors will mourn the loss of one who has passed his entire life in their midst. The funeral was held at his late home, February 15th, services being conducted by Rev. C. F. Miller of Mexico. Relatives from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fleming, Clay; Fordyce Fleming, Mapleview; Mrs. Nellie Fleming, Pulaski; Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Scanlon, Williamstown; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hayman, Utica; Mrs. George Taylor, Calcium; Lloyd Scanlon, Syracuse; other friends from a distance were Miss Mary Curran and Miss Grace Cushing, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. E. D. McFee, Old Forge; Stewart M. Crowell, Pulaski; Mrs. Emma Brown and Mrs. Laura Martin, Mexico. Burial was in Daysville cemetery.

      Newspaper Article - Saturday, March 2, 1918 Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - Surrogate's Court Monday - Will of Charles Fleming, Late of Mexico, Filed For Probate - The will of Charles Fleming, late of Mexico, who left an estate estimated in the petition for probate at $9,000 was filed in the Surrogate's office today. The estate goes to his wife, Helen F. Fleming, for life use. After that the property is divided between nephews and nieces, sons and daughters of Mr. Fleming's brother, Cheney. The later is also to receive $100 a year for life. Mrs. Helen L. Fleming is specified as administratrix.
