- John Edgerton Reynolds - July 22, 1864 - March 17, 1932. Son of John and Sarah Lowes Reynolds. Husband of Sarah Jane Grant Reynolds.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 23, 1932 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fernwood - Mr. J. E. Reynolds, aged sixty-seven years passed away at his home in Fernwood, Thursday evening, March 17th. Mr. Reynolds had been ailing since Sunday but the end came suddenly and unexpectedly of angina pectoris. John Egerton Reynolds was born in Harwick, Kent Co., Ontario, Canada, July 22, 1864 the second son of Rev. and Mrs. John Reynolds, was educated in the schools of Ontario and when eighteen years of age went to the then newly settled middle west states of Minnesota, North and South Dakota. He was a successful teacher, farmer and county official for many years. He was married to Miss Sarah J. Grant of Wessington Springs on June 29, 1892. To them were born three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Peters, Mrs. William Jackson and Mrs. Clarence Murray, all of Fernwood who with his widow and nine grandchildren survive. In 1908 Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds and daughters came from the west and bought the place known as the 0. H. White farm. In 1917 they moved to the home in Fernwood where he passed away. The funeral was largely attended at the home on Monday. Rev. A. Day Rich had a very comforting message. Mrs. Rev. Rich and Mrs. Vernon Halsey with Mrs. Halsey at the piano sang "In the Sweet By and By." Mr. Paul Foster had charge of the funeral, interment in the Willis cemetery. Mr. Reynolds was respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. His faithfulness as a Christian was one that all might follow, but - He has gone the last mile if the way, And is at rest at the close of the day. And we are sure that Paul was there to await him, As he went the last mile of the way.
