    • Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 10, 1976 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Richland Youth Dies of Exposure - Pulaski troopers said Edward Bielewitz of Richland, who celebrated his 18th birthday Friday, March 5 apparently died from "exposure to the elements" after lying unconscious in a field for almost 10 hours. He had last been seen alive shortly before midnight Friday while having a drink with friends in the Depot Corral tavern in Richland. He reportedly had visited several area taverns before reaching the Richland restaurant, according to troopers. Bielewitz was found about 9 a.m. Saturday, lying on his back in the snow between two bars, by a volunteer fireman participating in a clean-up campaign. Troopers said the temperature dipped to about 12 degrees in that area overnight, and snow began to fall about 3 a.m. A spokesman for the Onondaga County Medical Examiners office said laboratory tests have not been completed, but any sign "foul play" had been ruled out. Edward A. Bielewicz, Jr. was bom on March 5, 1958 in Richland, the son of Edward and Mary Tilkins Bielewicz. He was a senior at Pulaski Jr.-Sr. High School and had lived all his life in Richland. Surviving besides his parents are: three brothers, Donald, John and Michael at home; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Susan) Mowers of Richland and Lori at home; his maternal grandfather, Lewis E. Tilkins of California and several aunts, uncles, cousins and one nephew. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 9 at 9 a.m. at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Church with a Mass of the Resurrection being celebrated by Father Thomas P. Whalen. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
