- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, February 18, 2014 Watertown Daily Times (NY) - Douglas (Doug) E. Lighthall, age 85, of Pulaski, NY joined his beloved wife Delores (De) B. Lighthall in Heaven February 15, 2014. Doug was born October 18, 1928, in Pulaski, NY the son of Lawson and Jennie (Edwards) Lighthall. Doug was a devoted family man, craftsman and farmer. Doug was born and raised in the Pulaski area. He worked the family farm with his parents and worked Lighthall's Dressed Poultry delivering to local businesses and families. Doug worked as a carpenter the Fitzpatrick Nuclear Plant in Oswego for 30 years, retiring in 1990, and remained a member in good standing with Carpenter's Local #747 in Oswego. He remained loyal to his family heritage of farming after retirement, and he dedicated his time to the family land. Later in life, Doug and his wife raised miniature horses on their farm God's Little Acres, and enjoyed participating in community parades and functions with their animals. Doug was a quiet man and will be remembered for his sense of pride, love of family, and to smile and laugh even on difficult days. Doug married Delores (De) B. Fuller-Lasell on May 24, 1970 in Mannsville, NY, and she passed away February 29, 2012. Together they devoted their time to eight children. Sandra (Timothy) Mills of Mannsville, NY, Rosemary (Charles) Klebs of Richland, Robert Lasell of Pulaski and Tracy (Vincent) Bonanno of Pulaski along with Richard (Marsha) Lasell of Mannsville, Peggy (Edwin) Tryon of Mannsville, Linda (John) Maguire of Watertown and Pamela Lasell of Alabama. Also surviving are a sister in-law Rosemary O'Brien of Poughquay, NY and a brother in-law Robert Kirchoff of Chicago, IL and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. Doug was predeceased by his sister Winoa Kirchhoff (Ackley)of Chicago, IL as well his parents. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, NY, with a spring burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
