- September 19, 1893 ~ Amanda Boynton, age 82 years, born in Rodman, New York, Daughter of Jacob and Catherine Van Vaskirk, died in Pulaski of organic heart disease.

Deceased was sister of J. V. Wright and of Mrs. Youngs, both of this town, with whom she has lived for a number of years.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 28, 1893 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - September 19th, 1893, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard Youngs, near Port Ontario, New York, Mrs. Amanda Boynton, in the 83d year of her age. For many years Mrs. Boynton was a resident of the town of Rodman, Jefferson county, and her remains were taken there for burial in the family lot beside her husband. For a number of years she has been in failing health, and for some time her death has been expected, and when the end came she fell quietly asleep, to waken with the loved ones who have gone before. Mrs. Boynton leaves four surviving children, J. V. Wright, of Richland, Mrs. M. A. Gardner, of Watertown, Mrs. Richard Youngs, of Port Ontario, and Mrs. Hewson, of Detroit, Michigan. The children residing in this state followed the remains to Rodman, where funeral services were held, among her old friends and neighbors. Of Mrs. Boynton it may be said, "Her children rise up and call her blessed."
