- HUBERT L. COBB, ELLISBURG, DIES AT AGE OF 79

Hubert L. Cobb, 79, Machold Road, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday at the Madonna Home, Watertown, where he had been a resident for one year.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville, with the Rev. Willis E. Danks, pastor of Woodville Congregational Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellisburg Fire Department.
Surviving are three sons, Bruce, Mannsville, James, Sandy Creek, and Wayne, Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Madison, Henderson, John, Mannsville, and David, Adams; two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Helen) Chatterton, Mannsville, and Ann Langknecht, Cherry Hill, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Homer on Aug. 11, 1913, a son of Hubert H. and Ethelyn Cobb, he attended local schools and married Dorothy M. Snyder Nov. 21, 1940, in North Pharsalia. The couple operated a dairy farm on Farm-to-Market Road, south of Ellisburg, and in 1955 moved to the Loren Johnson farm on Machold Road. They purchased the farm in 1961. Mrs. Cobb died July 23, 1990.
Mr. Cobb was a member of the Ellisburg Fire Department and the Henderson Rod and Gun Club.
