      Newspaper Article - Tuesday July 7, 1951 The Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - To Retire From Woolworth Chain - Arnold H. Fox, Former Pulaski Man, With Company For 44 Years - Pulaski - The retirement of Arnold H. Fox, of San Francisco, California, formerly of Pulaski, from the F. W. Woolworth company, became effective Wednesday after 44 years of service. After receiving his early education in the Fox District (named for his pioneer ancestors in the town of Richland) he attended and was graduated from Pulaski High school in 1908. His application for employment with the Woolworth company was accepted at the Chicago office in 1908, and he was appointed to the Joliet, Illinois store. After three and one half years under the Chicago office he was transferred to the San Francisco district to assume management of the Chico, California store. Later he managed stores in Eugene and Salem, Oregon and Tacoma and Spokane, Washington. He entered the Army in September 1917, receiving his discharge in January, 1919, when he was appointed to open and manage the San Francisco warehouse for the Woolworth company, then serving the eleven western states. Mr. Fox and his wife, Ida, plan to travel extensively in the United States and Canada, and revisit the Hawaiian Islands and Alaska. Later a tour of Europe is contemplated. A tour of the Gulf states and the Atlantic seaboard is planned for next year when they will visit his sisters, Mrs. Edna L. Lane and Mrs. Gladys F. Benedict in Pulaski.

      Newspaper Obituary - Friday February 28, 1958 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Arnold Fox Dies; Native of Pulaski - Pulaski - Arnold H. Fox, 65, of San Francisco, California, brother of Mrs. Gladys Fox Benedict of this village, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon following an operation on Friday. He had been ill a week. Services will be held Sunday with burial in the National cemetery at San Francisco. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Caroline Walter Fox, whom he married December 30, 1955; two daughters, Mrs. Frank S. Webb of Est_dino, California and Mrs. William Peck of Redding, California; four grandchildren; a brother, Jay B. Fox, of Tacoma, Washington; his sister, Mrs. Benedict of Pulaski, and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Mrs. Ida Bruegger Fox, died January 4, 1954. They were married November 28, 1919 in Tacoma. Mr. Fox was born at Pulaski April 8, 1890, the son of Seymour J. and Cora Filkins Fox. He was graduated from Pulaski Academy in the class of 1908 and began work for the F. W. Woolworth company in 1909 at Joliet, Illinois. After three and one half years in the Chicago district, he was transferred to the San Francisco district where he managed stores at Chico, California, Eugene and Salem, Oregon, and Tacoma, and Spokane, Washington. He served in the Army from September 1917 to January 1919, and following his discharge operated and managed the San Francisco warehouse for the F. W. Woolworth company for 35 years, retiring July 1, 1953. Since his retirement he had traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting every state in the union.
