Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 31, 1975 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Mr. Prins Services Friday - Pulaski, John C. Prins, 84, of 8637 Wilder Drive, Richland, died Monday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Syracuse. Born at Castleton-on-Hudson, Mr. Prins graduated from schools there and Albany Business College. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. He and his wife, the late Mildred L. Liscumb Prins, resided in the Gouverneur area, moving to Richland in 1940. He was a telegrapher for the former New York Central Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 1956. He was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church and Pulaski Lodge 415, F&AM. He was fire commissioner for the Richland Volunteer Fire Department and formerly was tax assessor for the Town of Richland. Surviving are a son, Leonard T. of Richland; a daughter, Mrs. Janna G. Whaley; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, George of Castleton-on-Hudson and Anco. Another son, John C. Jr., died in 1970. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
