- LAWRENCE DINGMAN, ONCE OF RICHLAND, DIES

Lawrence Dingman, 47, of 8344 Harwood Drive, Lacona, formerly of Richland, died Monday afternoon in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. He had been ill with emphysema.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Janet Gibbs, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek, following cremation.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; two daughters, Jeanna Jackson, Richland, and Lori Dingman, Norfolk, Va.; two stepsons, Anthony DeRoose and David Cox, both of Richland; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Leon Dingman, Watertown, and LeRoy Dingman, Richland; seven sisters, Phyllis Pitcher and Maureen Lance, both of Richland, Bonnie Graham, Orwell, Wilma Dingman, Texas, Viola Martin and Betty Castor, both of Adams, and Beatrice Balcom, Rodman, and many nieces and nephews.
He was born Jan. 22, 1944, in the town of Ellisburg, a son of Cornelius and Bertha Berry Dingman. He was educated in local schools.
Mr. Dingman lived in Richland most of his life. He was employed at the Richland Dry Kiln Co. for 19 years, retiring in 1987 because of ill health.
He was a member of the Richland Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years and a member of the Oswego County Fire Police Association.
