      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 6, 1964 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Hilton Rites Today - Mrs. Belle Potter Hilton, 81, widow of Reuben H. Hilton, died Tuesday morning at her Bridge Street home. She had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Russell Clark, pastor of Park Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Orwell. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. James (Dana) LeClair of Pulaski; four granddaughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Shirley) Mamele and Mrs. Corando (Patricia) Tanguma both of Pulaski, Mrs. Durell (Bette) Clemons of Fort Knox, Kentucky, and Miss Linda LeClair of Pulaski; four great-grandchildren; a sister in law, Mrs. Frank Walker of Ashtabula, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hilton was born in the Town of Richland on December 29, 1882, and was the daughter of Napoleon and Dardana Whitney Potter. She had been a resident of Pulaski all her life. She was educated in the local schools and took up the art of dressmaking and painting before her marriage to Mr. Hilton on April 25, 1907. Mr. Hilton died March 14, 1957. They owned and operated a dairy farm on the Centerville Road for many years, and later moved to the edge of the village, where Route 81 now cuts off the Centerville road. They operated a small poultry business there for several years. After Mr. Hilton's death she moved to her Bridge Street residence where she resided in the same home with her daughter. Mrs. Hilton was well-known throughout a wide area for her ability to restore old dolls and repair antique dishes and figurines. She was a member of Park Methodist Church, a 65-year member of Pulaski Grange No. 730, a member of the Oswego County Grange, Pulaski Chapter No. 159, O.E.S., and of the Hinman Home Demonstration unit.
