Newspaper Obituary - December 26, 1997 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Eilene D. Skotnicki - Life Resident of Richland - Richland - Eilene D. Skotnicki, 68, of 2769 County Route 2, died Dec. 23, 1997 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Born in Richland, she was a life resident. Mrs. Skotnicki belonged to the Richland Fire Department Auxiliary and the town of Richland zoning board. She was the former commisioner of the Richland Fire District, and election inspector for the town of Richland. She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Dyer, who died in 1957, and her second husband, Joseph, who died in 1994. Surviving are three sons, Joseph II of Richland, Bruce "Pete" Dyer of Pittsburgh, and Daryl Dyer of Butler, Pa.; a daughter, Beverly Ackley of Adams Center; three brothers, Robert Tilkins of Sarver, Pa., Ronald Tilkins of Baltimore, and John Tilkins of North Syracuse; a sister, Bonnie Salisbury of Richland; 19 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, has arrangements.
Newspaper Obituary - December 24, 1997 Watertown Daily Times - EILENE D. SKOTNICKI FORMER FIRE COMMISSIONER - Eilene D. Skotnicki, 68, of 2769 Oswego County Route 2, died Tuesday evening at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Born July 2, 1929, in Richland, daughter of Louis and Florence Brown Tilkins, she attended Sandy Creek schools and was a life resident of Richland. She married Raymond Dyer Oct. 16, 1948, in Richland Methodist Church. Mr Dyer died Oct. 26, 1957, from burns sustained in a Oct. 13, 1957, fire that also took the life of the couple's son Paul. In 1959, she married Joseph Skotnicki, who died May 22, 1994. Mrs. Skotnicki was a member of Richland Fire Department Auxiliary, a former member of Richland Town Zoning Board, was former commissioner of Richland Fire District and had been an elections inspector for the town of Richland for many years. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Skotnicki II, Richland, Bruce "Pete' Dyer, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Daryl Dyer, Butler, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Beverly) Ackley, Adams Center; three brothers, Robert Tilkins, Saver, Pa., Ronald Tilkins, Baltimore, Md., and John Tilkins, North Syracuse; a sister, Bonnie Salisbury, Richland; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating. Spring burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Richland Fire Department.
