Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 24, 1913 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - The death of Mrs. Minnie Carl Hilton, wife of William Hilton, occurred Friday morning December 19, at her home, west of Pulaski. The deceased had been in poor health for some time, but kept about until September 1st, since when she had been confined to her bed. From the beginning of her illness, the skilled physicians who attended her, gave but little encouragement for her recovery, and the medical assistance and all that loving hands could do proved of no avail. No doubt the cheerfulness and splendid courage which she displayed to the last had much to do with the prolonging of her life. By her cheery and friendly manner she had won many friends throughout this section, who will be greatly pained to learn of her death. She was born in Sandy Creek, December 13, 1879, and resided with her parents until her marriage with William Hilton, of Orwell, which took place December 26, 1900. She had been a member of the Orwell Grange for a period of nine years and was also a member of Patrons of Industry, Ontario Association, No. 797. Besides her husband and one son, Robert, aged 12 years, she leaves to mourn her loss, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Carl, of Colosse, one sister, Mrs. Herbert Sprague, of Fernwood, and two brothers, William and Paul Carl of Colosse. Funeral services were held at her late home Monday, December 22. Rev. Walton of Ellisburg, officiating. Interment in Pulaski cemetery. The large assemblage of relatives and friends, and the profusion of many beautiful flowers were in evidence of the love and high esteem in which the departed one was held.
