      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 3, 1957 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Earl Ames, 63, of Richland Dies - Last rites for Earl D. Ames, 63, who died suddenly Sunday afternoon at his home in Richland, were held Tuesday at St. James Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. M. Howard St. Cyr officiated with interment in Richland Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Fox Ames; two daughters, Mrs. W. G. (Mary) Murray of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. William (Juanita) Hiltz, of New Milford, New Jersey; two sons, Lawrence Ames of Indian Lake, and Walter Ames of Watertown; and a half brother, Clarence J. Spicer of Richland, and nine grandchildren. Mr. Ames was born at Richland on July 4, 1894, the son of Walter and Rebecca McClary Ames. He was graduated from Pulaski High School in 1912 and married to Miss Grace Fox December 13, 1919. He had spent most of his life in Richland and was employed as car inspector for the New York Central Railroad for many years until poor health forced his retirement about two years ago.
