Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 27, 1926 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Death Results From Fall of Ice From Roof of Hospital - N. B. Dennie, Teamster, the Victim of Accident - On Wednesday forenoon, Mr. Barney Dennie went to the coal yards of E. M. Hastings with his team of horses, loaded his sleighs with coal and drove to Ideal Rest Hospital, Orwell to unload the same. He was there about noon, fed his team and went beside the hospital where he met his fate, which was being knocked down and rendered unconscious when a large chunk of ice slid from the roof of the hospital, striking him on the head over the right eye. He was alone when the accident happened but was soon discovered by someone about the place. He was picked up and taken into the hospital where Dr. R. C. Carnal attended him, and gave him all the help he could but he never regained consciousness. Death came Thursday morning. Mr. Dennie was born in Canada, 58 years ago and came to this locality when a young man and has continued to reside here. He owned and operated a farm two miles east of this village and also gave much time to teaming. Mr. Dennie is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Mollie Dennie Bentley, who is an invalid in an out-of-town hospital and two brothers, Frank Dennie, of Pulaski and Curtiss Dennie, of Altmar, also two grandchildren left by an invalid mother, whose father does not seem to care for them. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. H. Scott. Mrs. E. H. Scott sang a solo.
