- Franklyn E. Sampson Sr., 77, a life resident of Altmar, passed away Sunday at his home. Franklyn was born June 23, 1933, in Ellisburg, NY, the son of Frank E. and Alice Olin and attended Altmar schools. Franklyn married Ethel Mary Patterson on December 14, 1956; she died October 22, 1976. Franklyn owned and operated a dairy farm for 60 years. He was a former town councilman for the town of Albion. Surviving: three daughters, Barbara (Michael) Dority of Memphis, NY, Karen L. Hilton of Altmar and Kathleen (Timothy) Carr of Pulaski; three sons, Franklin E. (Regina) Sampson Jr. of Williamstown, Carl W. (Debra) Sampson of Richland and Eugene Sampson of Hastings; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar, with Pastor Ed Bennett officiating. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Altmar United Methodist Church.
