Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 3, 1979 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Arthur E. Hilton, 94 - Arthur E. Hilton, 94, of Falls Road, Richland, died 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, September 26 at the Oswego hospital. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home in Pulaski. Rev. Stanley Tanner, pastor of the Orwell Union Church, officiated, with burial in the Evergreen cemetery, Orwell. Mr. Hilton is survived by three sons, Lorenco A. [sic] and Hugh H. both of Falls Road, Richland, and Richard W. of Pulaski; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Rossman of Lacona and Mrs. Rex (Emma) Teachout of Pulaski, 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Born October 22, 1884 in the town of Orwell, the son of Alonco and Julia Wood Hilton [sic]. On December 16, 1910, he married Verna I. Joyner and they lived on the Falls Road in Richland. Mrs. Hilton died September 11, 1977. Mr. Hilton owned and operated a farm and sawmill doing custom woodworking. He operated the mill until late 1978.
