- Newspaper Obituary - September 22, 1949 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. J. Trumbull Taken By Death - Mrs. Martha Trumbull, 83, widow of John S. Trumbull, died at her home in North street, Thursday evening. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Funeral services were held from the home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. James N. Pauley, officiating. Interment was made in Pulaski Cemetery. Mrs. Trumbull is survived by two sons, John A. of Pulaski and Carl S. Trumbull of Detroit, Mich.; a grandson, Charles R. Trumbull, and a great granddaughter, Merine Louise Trumbull, also Detroit; and one sister, Mrs. William Little, of Altmar. She was born in Evans Mills, April 12, 1866, the daughter of Frank and Lucy LaPatra Montondo, and came to this vicinity of Pulaski with her parents at the age of seven years. On June 20, 1883, she was united in marriage to Mr. Trumbull and they lived on the family homestead in the Lehigh district until 15 years ago when they moved to their late home in North street. Mr. Trumbull died on Aug. 18, 1946.
