    • Newspaper Obituary - August 17, 1983 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - LAWRENCE BYRNS, 65 - Lawrence Byrns, 65, of North Main Street, Sandy Creek, died Thursday morning, August 11, 1983 at the Oswego Hospital. He was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Boylston, the son of Francis and Minnie (Barber) Byrns. He had lived in Sandy Creek since 1965. He retired from the State Department of Transportation in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Montondo) Byrns; three sons, Robert Byrns of Hastings, Kenneth Byrns of Pennsylvania, James Byrns of Syracuse; one brother, Gilbert Byrns of Lacona; one sister, Mrs. Alice Sampson of Pulaski and eight grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Stanley Tanner, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Hilliside Cemetery, Central Square. Contributions may be made to the Northern Oswego County Ambulance, Box 113, Pulaski for coronary-care equipment.
