  • Notes
    • [Notes: Albert Bloodgood was born February 22, 1823 in New Jersey, a son of James and Catherine Hansel Bloodgood. Albert was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting September 16, 1861 at Mexico, New York for a term of 3 years. Albert was mustered in September 16, 1861 as a Sergeant in Company H, 81st Regiment New York Volunteers Infantry, and due to disability, was discharged on August 13, 1862 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with rank of Sergeant. According to newspaper articles, Albert abandoned his family in 1867 and was thought by the family to be dead. He had, however, been living in Syracuse where he worked as a shoemaker. About 1879 he went to Oswego, where he learned of the murder of his daughter, Alice Bloodgood Greenfield, which occurred in Orwell on October 21, 1875. Albert’s date of death and place of burial are unknown.]
