Former Camden resident Emily E. Evans, 91, died Monday at Rome Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Steuben, Mrs. Evans also lived in Williamstown before moving to Camden in 1979. She moved to a Rome nursing home about a year ago. Her husband, Christmas "Chris" Evans, died in 1965.
Mrs. Evans was member of Camden United Methodist Church and the Camden Grange. She was a past matron of Amboy Chapter, OES, and a past master of Williamstown Grange.
Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn DeWolfe of LaFayette, Beverly Boynton of Bridgeport and Sylvia Rossi of Rome; two sons, Robert of Pulaski and Bruce of Parish; a brother, Ronald Broadbent of Texas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Camden United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Steuben Corners Cemetery.
Calling hours were Wednesday.
Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
