Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 20, 1953 Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Body of Pulaski Man Found In Car In Garage Today - Death of Harold North, 43, Due To Asphyxiation By Carbon Monoxide - Pulaski - The body of Harold North, 43, was discovered in his automobile in the garage-shop adjacent to his residence on Rome Street, this village, at 7 a.m. today. Assistant District Attorney William A. Hoag of Sandy Creek who was summoned said it was a case of suicide. Mr. North was found dead by his daughter, Eleanor, who noticed lights on in the garage when she arose this morning. She called Dr. John L. H. Mason who said death was due to asphyxiation by carbon monoxide. Sgt. Clarence Walburgh, BCI, and Trooper David Lynn of the Pulaski substation, state police, who investigated, said the doors and windows of the automobile were closed, the ignition turned on and that apparently the motor had run until it stalled. Death apparently came about 2 a.m., five hours before the body was found. Hoag ordered the body taken to Oswego Hospital for an autopsy to be performed by Dr. E. J. Felderman, county pathologist. No apparent cause for the action of Mr. North could be learned. He is survived by his wife, Thursa; three children; his mother, Mrs. Lambert North and a brother, Nelson North, all of Pulaski. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. At one time, Mr. North and his brother operated a body and fender shop in the structure which also served as a garage.
