      A prayer service for Ruth P. Lyng, 90, of 25401 Ridge Road, Watertown, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Clyde Lewis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in in Glenwood Cemetery.

      Mrs. Lyng died at 2:04 p.m. Monday at her home.

      Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

      Mrs. Lyng owned and operated the former Leehaven Nursing Home for more than 21 years, selling the business in 1968. A licensed practical nurse, she previously worked at the former Mercy Hospital for several years and at St. Patrick's Orphanage. She also did private-duty nursing.

      Born March 14, 1909, on Wellesley Island, daughter of David and Nettie Busch Shawcross, she attended Wellesley Island schools and graduated from the St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Syracuse.

      She married George R. Lyng on Oct. 26, 1929, in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Black River, with the Rev. Hollis Burns officiating. Mr. Lyng, a truck driver, died in December 1958.

      Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Doris M.) Olin, Watertown; a son, Donald H., Watertown; five grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.

      Two sons died before her: George died in infancy and Daniel died in 1962. Two brothers, Clarence and Frederick Shawcross, and seven sisters, Ruby Shawcross, Emerald Shawcross, Pearl Waterson, Violet Dionne, Lily Mahon, Norma Mahon and Doris Lauck, also died before her.
